SERANNA Shutt is likely to be the only political candidate to take to the stage - to make fun of herself.

SerannaThe Senate candidate for the Australian Sex Party will throw inhibitions to the wind when she takes to the stage for Green Faces tonight.

She said she would talk about everything.

"From share houses in the NT, my European trips, and anything to get people excited," she said.

The competition aims to give emerging comics 10 minutes on stage for a chance to win a trip to Canberra and the national finals.

The winner will be picked based on crowd reaction.

Ms Shutt said she would also be overcoming the myth that the Australian Sex Party was a one-policy party.

"We want to get to the Senate so we can block the bad laws," she said. "We don't want to take over."

Along with Ms Shutt will be Ashley Manicaros, Levi Jobson, Danielle Andrews, Tim Read, Ed De Silva, Craig Zee, Chris Irvine, Bronson Ingram, and Phil Denson.

The event is at the Old Town Hall Ruins from 8pm.

Tickets $30 at the door.
